Humphry Davy School 20 Dec 2024 Drum roll please! Taking 1st place in our Christmas card competition is... Sammy from Sowena house! HUGE congratulations we absolutely loved your design and felt it captured our ‘Christmas by the Sea’ theme perfectly! Such a great piece of art, you should be very proud! Well done to EVERYONE who took part in our house competition, it has been an absolute joy sharing your christmassy designs over the last 20 days.

Humphry Davy School 19 Dec 2024 Cornish sunsets are some of the best around and we feel this piece, created by Eva from Longya house, perfectly illustrates their beauty. Eva has captured a true sense of calm in this design - perfect conditions for Santa and his reindeer! 2nd place goes to you! Well done.

Humphry Davy School 17 Dec 2024 Happy Birthday Sir Humphry Davy! We had a lovely time celebrating with the Penzance community on Friday night. It is always a pleasure being involved in this very special lantern parade. Here are some great photos of our students making their lanterns and some official photos from the night!

Humphry Davy School 16 Dec 2024 One of the best parts of December at HDS is the delivery of our Christmas tree! It brings so much festive cheer standing tall in reception for everyone to see – it is impossible to walk past and not comment on it’s beauty (or its gorgeous smell!). This year we were treated to a second tree which has joined students in our restaurant, the perfect addition for the build up to Christmas! Thank you to those who donated trees this year.

Humphry Davy School 15 Dec 2024 Coming in at 6th in our Christmas advent is another amazing pencil drawing. This cosy Christmas scene was drawn by Mojo from Medra house. The Stargazy pie is a brilliant detail!

Humphry Davy School 12 Dec 2024 Another fantastic design for our Christmas countdown. Todays, in 9th place, is from Alba in Tevi house. We recognised our lovely building straight away and are so happy that Santa is making a stop to visit us!

Coming in at 12th place is student Moreblessing, from Kemeneth house, with this great drawing of Santa enjoying some much needed relaxation time by the sea before the big day!
