At HDS, we pride ourselves on the standard and quality of our young musicians and, to acknowledge this, we offer students the opportunity to become one of our twelve ‘Music Scholars’.

All our students are given the opportunity to apply.  Facing a rigorous application process, students submit a written application and perform in front of our judging panel. The process is an excellent ‘real life’ opportunity for our students; giving them the chance to experience what it may be like to audition for a job in the music industry.   Showcasing their talents in this competitive setting, we were blown away by the talent this year.  Choosing just twelve successful applicants from the many students who applied was not an easy task!

The successful candidates will now take part in weekly workshops with professional musicians to improve upon their skills, increase their repertoire with regular virtual performances as well as represent the school at various events both in school and in the wider community.

Well done to everyone who applied this year, it takes a great deal of courage to put yourself forward for an audition process and you should be very proud of yourselves. Huge congratulations to those successful candidates, we cannot wait to hear what musical treats you have in store for us this year!
